GENESIS Visualization Resources

Advanced visualization systems are employed in the GENESIS Earth Systems Modeling Project to aid in the analysis of climate research and to communicate findings to the scientific community and the public.

Software

Visualization software includes Alias/Wavefront Advanced Visualizer, Data Visualizer and Composer, as well as a number of "home grown" utilities.

Hardware

GENESIS visualizations are synthesized on Silicon Graphics Indigo 2 Extreme, Indigo 2 XZ and Power Challenge workstations.

Postproduction

Postproduction facilities include a Sony LVR5000 Laser Disc Recorder, Sony PVW-2800 Betacam Deck and a VideoMedia VLAN Editing System.
